9:05 AM President Nelson called the meeting to order
- provided an explanation why MMA wasn't there
- role call of directors and officers,

- Dabney moved to adopt the minutes of the previous meeting
- 2 nd Bruce Smith
- Approved with amendments
- MBOIA corporation has been renewed
- The President reported on the North East Regional Coalition and it's issues; there is a movement to get New York out of the North East Region due to a disagreement with Rhode Island
- NERC is seeking legal status as a corporation, and a $300 contribution from MBOIA
Discussion:
- ICC Community Building Code Grant
- Letter of agreement with ICC for April; School
- Jon Reed reported on discussions with ICC
- Tim reported on his involvement in this discussion and help from Mark Tebbetts
- Conversation in support of having Chris Laux doing the class
- ESBOF classes April 6 th thru the 9 th , at Sturbridge Host Hotel
- ICC Board Candidates, two candidates, 1 is from president of Region 3
- John Thompson is retiring in June, suggestion to dedicate the meeting to John
- New Applicants
- Tom D. Coastal Enterprises

- Dick Lambert moved to approve, passed
- Dick L. reported on Certified correspondence with former CEO Paul Griesbach and his use of MBOIA logo in his advertisements and website. Paul has promised to discontinue this practice. Dick noted that he received a note from one of Paul's unhappy customers about his use of our organization name & logo.
- Barbara gave the finance report, and discussed the receipts from the plumbing & septic courses
- Discussion on checks received?
Committee Reports:
- Eastern States Building Official Federation activity & lack of discussed,
- Al reports on Boards reluctance to align with a college or university to hold the school at the same location and time each year, and shrinking enrollment.
- Dick Lambert reports on testimony at the Capital on the Building Code Bill
- Dick used a prepared statement but did not read from it, but handed it out to the legislative committee members
- Dick met with the Fire Chief's Association and they support the Bill and offered written testimony to Leg/cmty
- Discussion on competing bills
Education:
- Jon reported that April School costs will be recovered at 50 attendees
- Discussion about providing the plumbing classes upcountry, perhaps Bangor. Jon will work with IAPMO and a Bangor area CEO to setup a Plumbing School for CEO's and Plumbers
Old Business:
- Tim reports he will be flying off to the ICC Governance meeting in the sunny southwest.
- Some discussion about a lobbyist, not unless needed
- Some discussion about becoming a chapter/affiliate of IAPMO
Regular Session:
Tim Nelson, President opened the meeting at 12:12 PM with a Pledge of Allegiance led by Dick Lambert
- Announced that quorum is present
- Asked for Communications and Bills
- MBOIA is seeking re-instatement as a nonprofit cooperation
- Tim had handouts on NERC, Northeast Regional Coalition, an ICC body of state affiliate chapter nominated officers /directors
- Tim explained the unrest with Rhode Island & New York and the negative impact on the committee.
Committee Reports:
- Tim reported on agreement with ICC for the April School
- Tim spoke of candidates for the ICC Board
- Brief Discussion of ESBOF
- Legislation update by Dick Lambert
- MMA offered alternative legislation, but BRED wouldn't consider it
- Code will be housed at SPO
- Motion by Bruce smith to support the Bill, 2 nd by Bill Longley, unanimous vote to support
- Treasurer Report
- Discussion on receipts from plumbing classes, looks like a profit after books are paid for.
- Education Committee report by Jon Reed:
- plumbing class went well and was well attended
- ICC class to be taught by Chris Laux, former Connecticut State Building Official
- Brochures are available and in the mail and on the website
Old Business:
- Al reported on possibility of:
- P&D Seminars doing the 15 hour Electrical Code update if enough are interested. Show of hands indicates enough interest, Al will follow-up with Charlie DeAngelis
- WH Shurtleff doing a seminar on Erosion Control products and practices
- Tim discussed MMA absence and Margaret moving to another division
- Barbara presented candidates names for membership
