Membership Meeting

• Call to Order – President Tim Nelson called the meeting to order at 12:50 p.m.
  
  
• Tim Nelson welcomed everyone!
  
  
• Tim Nelson reported that the two Officers of MBOIA that are absent are Paul Demers and Jodine Adams.
  
  
• Presentation of Retirees: 
  • Scott Davis did a presentation to Roger Timmons.
    
    
  • Richard Lambert did a presentation to Roger Timmons and Richard Peterson.
    
    
  • Tim Nelson presented the following to:
    • Roger Timmons Retirement:  Presented him with a plaque and an honorary membership in MBOIA. 
      
      
    •  Richard Peterson:  Tim Nelson noted that Richard Peterson could not attend.  He showed the membership the plaque that designates the honorary membership. 
      
      
• Correspondence:  Tim Nelson reported on the following:
  • Board of Directors for ICC – Need to look at who they will be supporting so they can send out a letter as soon as possible.  Tim Nelson noted that the board voted to support Jack Leyden as a member of the Board of Directors for ICC.  They will put a list together of Officer positions, so everyone knows how many slots are open.
    
    
    
• Bills:
  • Barbara Skelton reported on the following:
    Report of the Officers’ and Treasurer’s Report – Barb Skelton reported on the Total Current  Balance in the checking account:  Total Current Balance: $17,789.52. Motion made by Bill Longely, seconded by Jon Reed, all approved the Treasurer’s Report.
    
    
  • Barbara Skelton reported the bills that need to be paid are as follows:
    • Board voted to reimburse Bruce Smith for attending the Code Conference in April.
    • Dunstan School function for today.
    • Richard Lambert to be reimbursed for his costume for his presentation today.
                                                                                            
      
• Report of Committees

• Update of Technical Building Code & Requirements:  Guest Speaker reported on this in the a.m.
  
  
• Nomination Committee Report:  Tim Nelson reported that elections are coming up in September.  President, Vice President, and three Director positions will be open.  Please contact Dabney Lewis if interested on serving on the board.
  
  
• By-Law Committee: 
  Bruce Smith noted they met and made changes to the by-laws. It was noted that the by-laws will be mailed out to the members prior to their September membership meeting.  If anyone has comments on the proposed by-laws, please contact Bruce Smith.

•  Unfinished Business:

Code College Review:  Tim Nelson reported that from reviewing the Composite of the Evaluation, the Code Conference was a success. He noted they had about 115 in attendance.   

• New Business:

MBOIA has ordered approximately 1,000 Code Commentary Books from ICC Releases: 
June 25, 2010
As soon as they are ready notice will be posted on the Web site.

• Adjournment –Mike Nugent made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Al Farris, all approved to adjourn the meeting at 1:27 p.m.
